Welcome to the blog - Drifting Towards Simplicity! My name is Kendra Horne, and I’m excited, though admittedly a bit nervous, to share this journey toward a slower, more intentional way of living. I’ve reached a crossroads, questioning everything: my career path, our fast-paced lifestyle, and what truly brings fulfillment to my family. This reflection has led us here, to embrace minimalism, mindful living, and a simpler, more sustainable life.

Life, as many of us know it, often feels like a race against time, juggling work, parenting, mental health, and relationships, only to fall into bed at night exhausted. The remote work era is fading, and the daily hustle is relentless; finding balance feels more complex than ever. Mondays through Fridays blur by, weekends are spent catching up, and despite our best efforts, my husband and I often prioritize ourselves and our relationship last.
Mental health has always been a challenge for me. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder in my mid-teens and have spent my 20s and 30s pushing forward, achieving, surviving—but rarely pausing. Now, at 39 (almost 40), I know it’s time for a change. I need to redefine success, prioritize well-being, family, and intentional living, and finally break free from the cycle of burnout.
This journey focuses on slower living, better mental health, and creating an aligned life. If you've questioned your path, craved simplicity, or felt overwhelmed, you're not alone. I hope this space inspires change, clarity, and a life with more presence and peace.
