Q: What’s one moment in your life that completely shifted your perspective?
A: I think there were a few moments that caused me to shift my perspective and ultimately led me to create this blog. One happened early one morning, when my husband expressed that he thinks we should leave the United States, which was him saying - I see you, I see that you are struggling, and we can live differently! I think this moment was the permission I was looking for to change my perspective and start thinking both differently, more clearly, and to start striving for the simplicity I was craving.
Q: If you could describe your ideal day, what would it look like?
A: If I had my way, my family and I would be exploring a new country by day, and I would be sipping Aperol Spritz's and enjoying fresh seafood by night. At home, my ideal day includes spending time with my family, maybe hitting one of my favorite thrift stores, and enjoying some Mediterranean food. To top it off, I would head to bed early with a good book. To read more about what brings me joy, read 5 Things That Bring Me Joy.

Q: What’s one small thing that brings you instant happiness?
A: a really good reality TV moment!
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?
A: I wish I would have worked more deliberately on my mental health in my 20s and early 30s. I tried in spurts; but I never committed to it and gave it the focus it needed. Had I done so, I wouldn't be where I am today, in one of the most challenging seasons of my life to date.
Q: What’s something people assume about you that isn’t true?
A: That I have it all together. I've always been a perfectionist, over achiever, who strove to deliver and do most things well and right. Those closest to me know the burden and challenge this was, and the obstacles I had to overcome in my mental health to get where I am today.
That's it, a little more about me. Continue to follow my journey on the Drifting Towards Simplicity Blog.
